What does a custom design cost & what does it include?
It varies in most cases. There are a number of defining factors which dictate the cost of a design. Budget, size, site complexity, level of detail and lastly time. First a design brief is taken to ascertain all of you as the clients needs and wants. From there a design quotation is prepared for client review and approval.
Is their copyright on my plans?
All of my creations are protected under copyright law, and cannot be used or copied without prior written consent from White on White design. Upon final payment of the design fee, the plans and copyright are released to a client in full along with any intellectual property so that they can use the proposed plans as they wish, for example builder tender or owner builder etc.
Can you do working drawings?
Most definitely! White on White designs can also assist with the completion of detailed working drawings, landscape design, approval process, and even project management for those time poor clients. With the beginning of my working career producing detailed documentation for approvals and construction purposes are prepared with a great level of detail and information ensuring a smooth construction and approvals process.

Not every builder is suited to every client, and the builder tender process is specifically suited on a case by case basis. This ensures that the client has full control over the builder selection and the design itself while also saving you thousands.
How long does it take to produce a design?
It all comes down to the clients brief and knowing exactly what they would like to achieve in their design. The basis of any good design is a thorough and detailed brief of the clients needs and wants. This ensures the best design outcome will be achieved as quickly as possible. Typically the design phase can take as little as only 2 weeks.
How long does it take to obtain planning approval?
On average 12 weeks is the typical time frame to allow for when submitting to council for planning approvals. Ensuring that the proposed design concept is as compliant with all local council policy and Residential design codes of WA will allow for a quicker and smoother approval process.
